The Kids’ Cupboard

THE KIDS’ CUPBOARD

Some of our Ashland/Greenwood children qualify for free or reduced meals though the National School Lunch Program. These meals provide the fuel that they need to get through the week. But what happens to these children over the weekends and summer months? The Kids’ Cupboard is a weekly food pantry, targeted solely for children. It is located in the basement of American Lutheran Church but is an ecumenical effort of multiple Ashland churches. The pantry is open every Thursday from 5-6:30 PM. Registration forms are available at the pantry. Summer ‘cooking’ lessons are offered June through August, using fresh produce from our garden at Camp Carol Joy Holling. Acts of Kindness activities are also available to any child who wants to participate the first Thursday of each month. Both of these activities are sponsored by Thrivent Financial.
