The Service:
The worship at American Lutheran Church is rooted in the richness
of the Lutheran tradition, seeking to shape our praise and
thanksgiving of God with the best of our past and current
resources. Some might describe the services as "Blended",
using a variety of musical and liturgical styles to enhance
the congregation's participation in and experience of God's
Word.
Once a month (usually the fourth Sunday), we do offer a Contemporary
Service led by vocalists and guitar.
On the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month, the sacrament
of Holy Communion is celebrated. All are welcome to this
meal. We believe that Christ is fully present in this
sacrament, forgiving our sin and nourishing our lives. Christ
invites everyone to participate in this gift of life, which
he first gave to his disciples the night before he died and
through bread and wine continues to unite us, so we may go
out and share God's love with the world.
Although we do offer nursery care during worship services,
tended by 7th-12th grade students from the congregation, we
encourage families to worship with their children, because
parents are the primary resource for faith formation. As
your children worship with you, they grow to value and trust
what is important to you.
